Pre-Primary Education / Kindergarten schools are available in plenty. Children start going to Play School as soon they attain an age of above 2 year. Normally, school demands 2 year 6 month or 3 year age for Pre- Primary enrollment. The Pre-Primary schools prepare kids for enrollment in Primary school. Here main focus is given on habits so they can learn to sit in group and listen to teacher. Lots of focus is given on overall child development. Day Care Schools / Day Boarding Schools are preferred choices when both parents are working.

Students of Mumbai follows to 10 2 3/4 year system of education.
After completion of 10 years of school education students go for a 2 year of Junior College to study from one the three disciplines Arts / Science / Commerce. After completion of junior colleges students can go for a technical diploma qualification or chose for a 3 year general course or 4 year of professional college programme. The duration of college education may be higher in some courses like Medical and Architecture etc. Many of the colleges across Mumbai are affiliated with Mumbai University.
